The Most Beautiful Movie Scores
When people ask me what type of music I like, the answer is truly "Everything!!" - I listen to Frank Sinatra as much as I listen to the Wu Tang Clan. However, one genre that has the biggest effect on me - that can de-stress me and put me in an amazing mood as easily as it can make me cry my eyes out, is movie scores.
I suppose they are technically classed under the genre of "classical music". And while I love classical music, I think film scores are of a higher level than most classical music. They are created with the sole intention of stirring a specific emotion in you, whether it is feelings of love or deep sadness. They can bring you back to a moment in your favourite film, or you could have attached them to something personal in your mind. When you listen to an entire soundtrack, the body of work takes you on a journey of an entire movie. Most of the best scores are being played behind a pivotal moment in a scene, so to me they are modern day masterpieces that are often overshadowed and completely underrated.
My favourite film composers of all time are Hans Zimmer, Alan Menken, Aaron Zigman and James Horner, and I implore you to listen to all of their music despite them only appearing on this list once or twice. I decided to not to limit myself when it came to making this list, there are so many stunning pieces of music and the good thing about this being my website is I can share them all with you!
