One of my favourite things about being a makeup artist was seeing how disappointed clients were to find out Banana Powder did not smell of banana. That seems like a weird part of a job to love but it was really funny because I too had assumed such a thing when I first ever heard of it. However, it's probably best our faces don't smell of a food and there are many other reasons to LOVE banana powders.
Why use yellow powders?
The yellow tinge of banana powders illuminates the skin and corrects redness and dark circles.
It works on many different skin tones because it is fairly translucent when applied.
It is an “oil absorbing” mattifying powder meaning it reduces the appearance of shine while setting your makeup.
It can be used to both highlight and contour your face, while brightening your face.
It should be applied under eyes after concealer has been applied to prevent any creases or any makeup setting in fine lines and wrinkles.
Another bonus is that that there is no white powder visible in photos because the yellow colour does not refract light in the same way. You will instead look radiant.
How do I apply it?
You apply Banana Powder anywhere you apply concealer / the lighter shade of your contouring:
under the eyes
your T-zone
the bridge of your nose
your chin
and anywhere where you get shiny or oily.
For best results leave the powder to bake i.e. the powder to heat to your skin which will mean it sets better. You bake by leaving the powder on your skin for about 10 minutes to allow it to set and then brush away the excess powder. You can apply the powder either with a sponge, a brush or a powder puff.
