Top Places to Eat and Drink in New York

New York City is famous for it's food, not only it's variety but the standard. Rent for restaurants in NYC does not come cheap, so to afford it and keep your restaurant in business, you have to be at a standard above the rest. And that's what makes dining so great, every meal they make matters.

Serendipity 3

225 E 60th St, New York City, NY 10022

My personal favourite place in New York for desert and a little treat. It is eccentric and historic with everyone from Andy Warhol to Marilyn Monroe being regulars.

Bar Primi

325 Bowery, NY 10003

This was one of the first restaurants I went to in New York and I will never, ever forget how amazing the food was. I was also obsessed with the postcards they attach to the bill and I now have one framed in my kitchen.

Rolf's

281 Third Avenue

To have a wonderful meal in such a stunning setting was incredible. The food is German, as is the alcohol (I recommend the Gluvine) - I had the potato pancakes with Apple Sauce and Sour Cream and I can recall the taste if I think hard enough - it is was truly delicious. We were served by Babul, one of those waiters who clearly loves the restaurant and has worked there a long time - a rare thing in New York.

Gramercy Tavern

42 E 20th St, New York, NY 10003

Danny Meyer's Flatiron District tavern with a fixed-price-only dining room & a bustling bar area.

Russian Tea Room

150 W 57th St, New York City, NY 10019-3301

I had a wonderful lunch here, with the most amazing service. Cosy booths, dim lights and a feeling you've walked into another era. The caviar, blinis and vodka is fabulous.

Mezzaluna

1295 3rd Ave # 1, New York, NY 10021

It's just a short walk from Museum Mile for some of the best pizza in town. It is usually very crowded and specialises in brick-oven thin crusted pizza.

Ninja

25 Hudson St, New York, NY 10013

High end Japanese cuisine with ninja show.

One if by Land, Two if by Sea

17 Barrow St, New York, NY 10014

One of the most romantic and upscale restaurants in New York.

Ippudo

65 4th Ave, New York, NY 10003

Popular East Village Japanese eatery - the pork buns are incredible.
